The Water Industry Commission for Scotland (WICS) in collaboration with the Consumer Futures Unit (CFU) at Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS) has announced its appointments to the Customer Forum for the Strategic Review of Charges 2021-27.
The Customer Forum appointments announced today follow the recent announcement of the signing of a Cooperation Agreement by the Water Industry Commission for Scotland, Scottish Water and Citizens Advice Scotland to establish the next Customer Forum for the forthcoming Strategic Review of Charges 2021-27.
Anne Lavery, the Acting Chief Executive of CAS, said: "The Customer Forum will place consumers and communities at the heart of developing Scottish Water’s business plan for 2021-27. It is an innovative and world-leading model, as the role of the OECD in evaluating the process demonstrates. We are pleased to have recruited such a capable team for the task ahead."
Douglas Millican, Chief Executive of Scottish Water said:
"The interests of our customers and communities are at the heart of what we do. We look forward to working with the Customer Forum to ensure that this remains the case in the years ahead."

Our task now, is to gain a close understanding of customer views across Scotland to fully understand their needs and priorities. This will inform all that we do in engaging with Scottish Water to deliver the next generation of water services that Scotland needs."

Notes to Editors
1. The Customer Forum will be responsible for ensuring the interests of customers and communities are embedded in the forthcoming Strategic Review of Charges 2021-27 (SRC) which sets prices and levels of service for Scottish Water.
2. The Strategic Review of Charges 2021-2027 (SRC) process is designed to ensure that customers get value for money from their water and waste water services both in terms of the price that customers pay, and the service which they receive in return. This is an important process for all water customers in Scotland because it sets a limit on the amount that customers can be charged and sets out the standards of service and improvements that Scottish Water is required to deliver.
