Government pledges to 'put people at the centre of Scotland's new Social Security system'

23 Feb 2017

Citizens Advice Scotland has welcomed the Scottish Government’s statement on the newly devolved Social Security system.

CAS Policy Manager Keith Dryburgh says,

"We welcome the Scottish Government’s commitment to putting people at the centre of the new Social Security System – and to actively involve those who have had direct experience of it.

"The goal of this process must be to create a fair, equal and responsive social security system that gives support to people who need it, when they need it, and we are pleased to see the clear value placed on advice and advocacy services.

“We look forward to working in partnership with the Scottish Government to support the delivery of this system, continuing the valuable work currently undertaken by the Citizens Advice service on behalf of the citizens of Scotland.”
