Health complaints service
NHS or heath related issues? We can help
Citizens advice bureaux across Scotland are now funded by local NHS Boards to deliver the Independent Advice and Support Service (IASS). IASS aims to support patients, their carers and relatives in their dealings with the NHS and in other matters affecting their health. We can help with:
Feedback, comments and complaints If members of the public have comments or complaints about the treatment they have received in hospital, from their GP, dentist, nurse or any part of the NHS, and are not sure what to do next:
- We can help them raise concerns with the NHS care provider and resolve issues informally
- We can guide them through the formal NHS complaints procedure, and support them in their dealings with the NHS.
Health improvement information If ill-health or disability is having an impact on other areas of someone's life, we can:
- Help with information on their rights to NHS services
- Assist with information on dealing with the consequences of ill-health or disability, for example with accessing disability benefits
- Provide advice on a wide range of non-health issues.
This service is provided through local bureaux. If you need to speak to someone, use the CAB finder to locate your closest service point.
