Social policy - Working for change

Scotland's CAB Service isn't just the country's leading independent advice service - it's also a leading advocate for social change.

We collect evidence from around the country and use it to demonstrate that change is required. We think this is so important that it's one of our twin aims.

And change is possible.  Recently the use of CAB evidence has contributed to:

• The Scottish CAB Service latest report  Drowning in Debt published in June
• Seven briefing sheets based on the Drowning in Debt report; Coping with Debt, Lone Parents, Low Income clients, Older People and Debt, Disabled and Sick CAB clients, Creditor Behaviour and Young People and debt
• A briefing on Employment and Support Allowance published in October
• Regular press releases, newspaper articles, television appearances and radio interviews
• The consultation response to the Homeowner and Debtor Protection Bill
